Festive Goodies from the London Review Cake Shop

Posted by the Bookshop

We've got goodies galore at the Cake Shop this Christmas. Tuck in...

'Bedecked with birds and pomegranates in the style of William Morris, this Christmas cornucopia is richly spiced and unabashedly boozy.'

Add some festive cheer and a dramatic centre piece to your Christmas table with one of our Christmas Cakes, baked and illustrated by Terry Glover. Made with fruit that has been soaking in a heady mixture of tea, spices, rum and brandy for over nine months, these rich, alcohol-steeped fruitcakes are packed with warming spices and a potent blend of raisins, ginger and nuts.

Terry says: ‘This recipe evolved from the familiar flavours of my mother’s fruit cakes from family Christmases in Oz, enlivened by the vibrant tastes of the Caribbean cooking tradition I’ve imbibed since moving to South London.‘

She's also been baking jars of beautiful, buttery biscuits in fantastic flavour combinations including Orange Blossom Anise; Rose Blossom, Barberry & Orange; and Lemon, Ginger & Thyme.

Spoiled for choice? Why not take home a Christmas hamper! You can create your perfect basket from just £50, packed with your selection of jars of biscuits and beautiful tins of spiced black tea, topped off by one of Terry's hand-painted Christmas cakes.
