Roxy Dunn's second pamphlet, Big Sexy Lunch, came out last month from Verve Poetry Press and is available here.
Exes at Lunch
It ought to be encouraging:
proof of love’s stability
but the past becomes disturbed
the kinder feelings persist
pulling laughter and light until
the old disappointments are forgot
The frayed tether’s return is unexplained
why in this safe embrace our arms serve
up everything lost, and not gained
