International Booker Prize Longlist 2025

Selected by the Bookshop

The International Booker longlist has been announced! There was a palpable buzz in the shop when Gayle read out the names. The works are unusually compact: of the 13, only 2 break the 250-page mark (the exception is Mircea Cărtărescu’s whopping Solenoid); and a majority of the authors are nominated for their first English-language publication. The judges, chaired by Max Porter, now have the unenviable task of whittling down a shortlist, which will be announced on Tuesday 8 April.
