Natalia's Autumn Picks 2024

Selected by Natalia de la Ossa

At the top of the list for me this Autumn is the forthcoming Season of the Swamp by Yuri Herrera (I would also recommend his previous collection of short stories, Ten Planets, and his essay A Silent Fury: The El Bordo Mine Fire),  followed closely by some new fiction with stories from El Salvador, The Volcano Daughters by Gina María Balibrera and a recent translation of the Guatemalan author Augusto Monterroso.

I’m also excited about the latest Hazel Press poetry title, The Seafarer, translated by Mathew Hollis with original photographs from Norman McBeath, and then the joy of a new Ali Smith book - coming out in November, with what promises to be an unforgettable launch event at the bookshop!
