Alastair Crooke came to the shop following the publication of his book Resistance: The Essence of Islamic Revolution. Admitting the impossibility of condensing a complex argument into a short evening’s talk, he set out to give his audience at the London Review Bookshop ‘a few ideas’ on the history of the Islamist revolution.
