From the publisher

England in the mid 1980s. Tom Goodings is living in contented retirement in a small Devon village, memories of his London-based business life fading, so, too his less than glorious days as a soldier in World War II. But then the memories begin to revive. He recalls a murder, his possible complicity in it, and finds himself wondering about the subsequent history of a family broken apart by a terrible act of violence. And so he sets out on a journey of discovery and atonement.

As with all John Lucas’s novels, Remembered Acts is about the ways in which ordinary men and women are brought to confront their pasts, are called to account.
